QuickBooks R7 Update: What You Need To Know First

Hi everyone,

I feel it is extremely important to make you aware of Intuit’s new R7 update for QB 2016. The same update for 2014 and 2015 will be released soon. You may have been prompted to install the R7 update already, but before you do there are some things you should know.

R7 has some enhanced security features that may affect you. The biggest and most annoying (to people who hate passwords) is implementation of Complex (C0mp!ex) passwords. Some users have reported an issue with the password changes that have resulted in trouble accessing company files and using QuickBooks. I have included links to some great articles on this recent update. I strongly recommend reading them to gain a full understanding of what changes this update will make to your accounting system, especially the comments on the Sleeter article. If you are unsure about this update, you might to wait to see what initial feedback QuickBooks users have. I will make sure to post and update about any serious issues or problems.

Please feel free to contact me with questions. I would be happy to schedule a time discuss how this could affect you or your clients.
